I need help in Mississippi what gives the county the right to tell me I have to cut my grass or they will do so and charge me. I have been on the phone with everyone I can find trying to find how a county can kill a agriculture crop "honey" no one knows what to tell me the farm bureau knew they send out letters like that but couldn't tell me if I had any protections.

Thing that pee'd me off the most is I plained on cutting the grass this year bought the tractor for it. Now I want the stuff ten feet high. Now I want to make this clear I live in the county not the city I live in the county.

Are you locally zoned agriculture? If not, your agricultural argument may be out the window.

make them tell you by which law they insist you cut your grass.  also, are you growing any noxious weeds in there?  that might be what makes them want it cut.  also, many states have fire laws that require fuel be cut especially if it's near a road.

you are going to have to do some homework, but first you need to know exactly what they are enforcing.

Is it obstructing the view so cars can't safely cross a road or something like that? Make them tell you why it needs to be cut

I have a feeling I am being singled out because I asked for a lot to be reaccessed because they have the taxes way to high. They might have zoned it residential but there has been a farm on the land for years the lot I wanted reaccessed has a grain silo on it only thing that is there. There are houses all around but it land my granddad raised bees and cows on one sad year he planted cotton on those 5 acres. Letter stated it was to protect property values ha if they want to do that they would outlaw the trailer park that is cross the road from my land.

I have to being singled out there is nothing but falling down houses and lots with grass over your head on every other lot what it is that this area is depopulating.

I was once told to clear mine of leaves. SOOOOO, I raked them up waited until just after a rain and burned them very very slowly for over a week.
Another time I had a neighbor that got all pissy over "my" grass and bugged the landlord about. Now this was a river home and the neighbor was a weekend only pest SOOOOO I cut my grass on the weekends, at 5AM. She also complained about pine straw on my roof to my land lord, WELLLL that was good for pretty much a summers worth of weekends on the burn pile. I think she saw me judging the wind though, whatever the case by the end of that summer her place had a for sale sign.

Just tell the county that the grass is not tall enough to bale yet.

BlueBee

Just be thankful they didn't tell you it was illegal to keep bees!

You could go to the county courthouse and get a copy of your deed.  Are there any deed restrictions?  This sounds odd if you're living outside the city limits.

i would take pictures of the neighborhood and challenge them to explain why they are talking to you and not everyone else.  that property value thing is BS and none of their concern anyway.

do you have a problem with anyone around you or is there some land/home for sale?  might be that someone complained.

i like the suggestion by AllenF  :-D

people would much rather have me being nice than being mean and the folks around there know it.

I would say its I angry of the accessors because I questioned his ability to do his job by telling him the values were wrong and I was nice about it but he is a jerk with a chip on his shoulder. One of the lots is .8 acres and is appraised at 11,000 there has never been a lott to sell for that in the history of my neighbor hood. I asked him about it oh its a big lot I looked at him like he sprouted horns then said okay, because I dont own it till august. Then I will chew his butt over that statement. That lot is worth about 1000 the taxes right now on it are 200 a year we will pay around 600 buying it for the taxes.

I am going to find away to tell them what I think of them I want this rule removed I mean sense I was born and before that section has been called the pasture because it was the hay pasture for the cows for years and when granddad decided he no longer want cows it was just a bee pasture I road my go cart in. thats what gets me is the grass is high but its not near my house my yard is cut you drive by the front of my house its cut my dad cut it last sunday so I could play with my baby.

Problem with this world is that people should have killed first person that tried to tell them what to do with there land I mean grass don't even stink. I know its not the neighbors my father is a commercial fisherman no one wants to tick off one of them. He would spread fish guts over the entire pasture if he thought it was a neighbor.

Just wrote it out in august we will own 4 acres of a 9 to 10.5 acre block and if everything goes right next year we will own 5 of that and then one acre is a burned out house in bankruptcy. So of the 10 lots only 5 have people in them right now and mine is right in the center. Except for one neighbor thats wrapped by my land and we get along good I mean if they were going to raise hell I would think the guineas or geese would have done it long ago.
I have guineas, geese, chickens, dogs, cats, rabbits how many folks you know freerange rabbits I had a goat for about 3 weeks year before last. My dad is know to randomly shoot stray dogs that come up. Oh all but the dogs geese and that goat have always been free range oh and don't forget the darn bees right now there is 18 boxes in back I was hoping to go over 20 this year.

So of all these things I have thought would tick people off its the grass?
