Swarm and Bee Removal Turning Into Everyday Job

I'm a Central Texas beek and have formerly made my money off
honey and NUCS, but after taking some bees out of the Courthouse
here in La Grange, Texas, the County Agent put me on the bee list.
This year I've been getting two calls a week and since I took a swarm
off the Fayette Water Supply Bldg, right above the office door that had
the office staff in a huddle in the parking lot like a bunch of chickens,
they have been calling me for meter box bees. I like those as they tend
to be new colonies. But I love a swarm best. Anyway, this sideline removal
business is turning into a full time job for right now.

Yeah, I know what you mean. One of the area newspapers did an article about me and bees, and I have been getting tons of calls!

Yea I tell those jobs. I'll do it for free if they come to my house and build the wrap around porch that my wife wants for free. :) :-*

I'll do the swarm removals for free. You usually get some good bees out of the deal, and it only costs you a drive and some time, both of which I find enjoyable.

But the real reason I do them for free is the free publicity. I get my name out there, people remember me, like the job I did, then call me the next time a swarm comes around, or better yet call me when they have a paying removal job. Can't beat that!

It is funny how people react to a bee swarm.  Most often they think a ball of bees is going to attack everyone in sight.  I do get a kick out of how frantic some people get.

The fun wears off real quick when it's 90 + degrees out side, I go back to my regular job to rest after weekends of removals.

Will be hanging my spurs up for the year about mid July. Don't know how you southern guys deal with all the heat and humidity.
