I'm a newbee haven't had bees but month or 2 now, and went to check on my hives (3) and in one of the hives they had connect two of the frames together in a couple places with some cone, so I took hive tool an cleaned it up but there was honey in it.  Hmmm its true nothing tastes as good as your OWN honey. :)

No honey laden burr comb goes to waste around here.

I sometimes get so busy sticking my finger into capped honey for a taste that I don't get anything done! There's nothing like honey warm from the hive!

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Working on cutting out five hives from an old abandoned house that is my pet project to build up some hives and have gotten 6 gals of honey so far from two hives and enjoying every bit of the honey we have gotten. Have not tasted any from my own hives and am a first year beek myself and everytime I hear of getting some bees I get to itching to go get em.  :-D

The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea ,than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

When I tasted the honey from my first hive, I thought I died and went to heaven. I was giggling and laughing so hard.  It is wonderful stuff.

Yep, it sure is the best.  Got my bees in Dec, bought from an estate, extruded my first honey, 4 shallow boxes a couple of weeks ago.  When you are straining it in 5 gal buckets, then pouring it, there is a lot of finger licking.  Already making a dent in production.ha

Nothing, but NOTHING beats a finger full of fresh warm honey straight from the hive snuck under the veil!! :-D

I should try that under the veil thing; I've been known to lick it through my veil  ;)

I usually give the property owner some nice pieces of capped comb when I do a cut-out. I love seeing their faces when they try fresh honey straight from the comb for the first time. Pretty much guarantees a honey sale come harvest time.
