Just got two queens today took the first and placed her into a split that's about two weeks old that was queenless. The other bees seemed to take to her very well did not ball the cage at all some stopped to check her out but went about their business. The queen cage was installed with the sugar up between the frames.

The second queen was added to a 5 frame nuc I just made up tonight. There was a queen cell on one of the frames that was completely closed. Anyone know how old that cell may be?  And when do you think it would emerge? Wouldn't mind having another queen around.

Again the bees seemed to not even notice the new queen was there.

What are your thoughts on the hives accepting the new queens? Thanks for your input.

The queen could be between 8 and 16 days old. My question would be, why did you waste your money on the second queen before you give the cell a chance to make it happen for you? Sounds like you should have made up three nuc's and if your queen cell did not hatch out in the next 8 days the bees could be combined with the third nuc.

I will be going to my sisters to pick up some brood and honey from her hives and take the queen cell frame out and amke a third nuc.

The virgin will emerge in 8 days or less.  If the new queen is accepted, they may tear down the queen cell.
