Can anyone clear this up for me?

When I install a package in the Spring I have to feed them until they get frames drawn. So how do swarms survive when they go find a new home that has no drawn comb? Seems like they'd starve before they got comb drawn and any food stored.

Thanks

edward

Bee for they swarm from the old hive they fill themselves with honey the honey stores and them swarm away and look for a new place to live.

A big swarm can bee very heavy beecause of the honey, 20kg is not unheard of.

.
2 kg swarm fills a Langstroth box and 40% out of its weight is honey.

A swarm has 3 days food with them.
