Simon

Hello, I am in North West Tasmania.  I kept bees with my Grandfather quite a few years ago, well I probably just got in the way most of the time, but I managed to learn a little bit.  My Grandfather had over 1000 hives at one stage, but we had about half a dozen or so to look after after he "retuired".  I still have a heap to learn as I didn't really get enough time with my Grandfather and our bees before school and his ill health got in the way. I don't have any hives at the moment, but I would like to get back into beekeeping as a hobby.  Regards to all, Simon.

Life is more fun with bees,  :-D

Where is Tasmania??   :?

Simon

Thanks for the greetings!  ..and Lone, Tasmania is just near Australia but south a bit, where's Queensland??  ;)
..hang on, I have a bull arab and he comes from Queensland, so you must be allright! :-D

Jeanette

Welcome Simon!

Queensland is that bit near the top right with the wet and dry seasons reversed  :-D  I spent several years in Tassie and loved it. There is nothing quite like a warm log fire after slopping through a muddy paddock in the dead of winter. Unless you count tobogganing down the driveway during snow season!

My hubby joked to some gullible mainlanders about having to shoo the penguins off the lawn in summer ... and they took him seriously.
