No more bending over low nuc racks

Found a way to raise nucs to waist level. 
A source of free 2x4 cut to 36"
Took em and made sawhorses!
going to put rails on top and sit my nucs on the rails.  :-D
Only cost will be the 2x4 rails that run between sawhorses. 
My back will be very happy for this !! :laugh:

Why just today I was thinking of ways to make things easier in the back. This is a good idea. I have to come up with something that can be used on sloping terrain. Maybe something with 3'-4' tall end supports that I can bolt my railing to so that I'm level from side to side but sloping back to front.

Bush_84 when I built my TBH I had some pieces of 4x4's, so it has those or the legs.  Bottom of legs cut on an angle so to set flat.  I try to level my hives side to side and front to back, using foundationless frames mostly.  Also, some will say I am messing up and maybe but I have my hives under a metal roof.  Don't have to worry about raining into hives, also have SBB's anyway.  Good luck to yall

I've decided to build a double rail with posts cemented into the ground. It looks great so far. Hope I don't have to move my hives anywhere!  ;)

I have all my mating nucs waist high off the ground now. I hated stooping over to work them before.
Each year I moved them higher and higher. You'll never have them down low again Bailey.

Wanted to show finished product with first rack in place. Can hold 2 rows of nucs at waist level.  Plus 2 more at knee level if I wanted or needed.

That's the second level of rows at knee level.

What I meant by that was take my tbh and put my nucs on my empty tbh.  I made two and they both died.  I do not think I will restock them unless a swarm moves in.

Gave my TBHs to a newbee friend after playing w/ them for a couple years.  They were fun for a while, but problematic for my expanding beeyard. 

I like my (waist level) LONG Hives much better as the frames can be interchanged in and out of my Langs.  Made my life and my bees lives easier.  I also have a NUC Bench (belly high) that makes my world a better place  8-).

My first thought was that will bee one tall unworkable hive  :(

What a great and ingenious idea, why should the hive bee low when the benefits for the hive( less damp,less heat reflection)
For the beekeeper easy access   :-D

Must be nice not to be in bear country,if i would do that they would be in the woods getting eat and they have no fear of the house.
