With rapidly increasing hives I've had to start looking for bulk suppliers with decent rates. I found this place recently: http://www.zenithtimbers.com.au/

Supers $17.50
Frames $96 per 100 Aliance
Lids $18.50

Please let me know of anyone cheaper.

Their website is a bit light on content.

Keeps the costs down though ;)

I like the way they've used different font sizes, it really gives their site some pizazz!

They should keep the overheads down and use the same font.

That's going to take some time assembling all of them!

No, not at all. I built a frame jig like Scott's that does 40 frames at a time. Takes about 10 minutes per 40 frames.
Painting the supers is a whole other story though  :(

I take it that they only supply in carton lots, I did send them an email a couple of weeks back but got no response.

That's awesome Shane!

Do you wire up the frames and use wax sheets?

I have started buying plastic 10 frame hives. They are a bit more expensive but saves a whole lot of time! I have also bought some plastic frames that simply hold real wax sheets and clips the top shut.

Kevin, they do supply in singles if thats what you mean?

Ben, Yes I wire and use wax foundation. I normally work out how many frames I'll need for the next inspection and wire them during the week while watching TV and then on Thursday/Friday night I'll embed the foundation.
What are the plastic frames you have? I bought a few a while ago just to test but they had lots of grooves and places for SHB to hide so I stopped using them. They would work out very expensive to few hundred of them also?

That must take you some time Shane! Do you put the eyelets in as well?

These come from betterbeehives.com.au

You are correct, works out dearer but it saves heaps of time! and last longer too.

No I don't use eyelets. I don't see a need.

Those frames are similar to what I tried but not the same. I don't see the extra cost making up for 60 seconds to wire a frame though. What do they cost? about $2 each?
