We had a thunderstorm today and then the sun came out. An hour later I went out to watch the bees and I found a bee laying on her back wiggling - chopped in half! I immediately suspected a hornet. Not knowing what to do, I put the entrance reducer in and headed for the computer!

The reducer is at the 4" opening setting. If this even IS the correct thing to do, should I have taken it to the smallest setting (about 3/4" ?)

Yellow Jacket - not hornet.
I was excited!

Anyone????

millipede

They pheromone traps for them. I try to kill any I see making nests in early spring as those are usually the queens. Nasty little boogers.
