I've been doing a lot of trap-outs on trees and structures lately.
I have 14 working now and have taken 2 down in the last 3 days.
What I've noticed is I get a lot of bees but when I take the trap down and remove the plywood that sealed the entrance off, I'm seeing a lot of small hive beetle larva outside the hole but behind where the plywood was.
I've noticed a lot of small hive beetles in trees this year.
I believe what is happening is I trap the bees, the population drops and the hive beetle go rampant laying eggs.
They are so bad I won't release the bees in the hive to go back into the tree.
I'm just sealing it off.
Here is a picture of a tree that I took the trap down just yesterday.
All of the white is small hive beetle larva.

When the law no longer protects you from the corrupt, but protects the corrupt from you - then you know your nation is doomed.

Your guess is right capt. I have developed a true hatred for those things. I wish someone would find a product like BT that would control SHB.
