Brother Dave

Greetings I am new to this forum and enjoying the  reading. I have three hives. 2 with Russian hybrid queens and one with a Carolinian queen.  Although I have in my second year I consider myself a novice.

At this time I am trying to keep my bees dry and fed.
sugar attracts ants and syrup adds moisture to the hive.

I hope to have good questions and in time be able to help others.

Welcome, Dave! What differences (if any) do you notice between your Russians and your Carnies?

Brother Dave

Yes my Russian bees are more defensive and take less stimulus to trigger an attack than the carniolans . the Russians seem hardy and are crossed with local survivor stock

Greetings Brother Dave.  I am not too far from you in Lewis County, although I'm over in your neck of the woods quite often.  My daughter lives in Shelton so I venture over pretty regularly.  I'm a beginner, starting my first hives next spring and planning to take a class soon after the Holidays.  In the meantime I'm reading and learning as much as I can.

Brother Dave

JanO good to hear from you. Beekeeping is fun you will meet a lot of fun people at bee club. I really like reading beekeeping books to.
