Swarm and Parent Hive queens - laying

A week ago yesterday I caught a swarm in my yard. I saw it come out of the box and retrieved it from a low hanging tree limb. Today I'm going through my hives inspect, robbing, and reducing. I want to make sure all my hives are queen right. Low and behold, the parent hive and the swarm hive both had eggs and small larva. go figure.

I guess they were in too big of a hurry to pay any attention to the math  ;)

Your parent hive must have had to wait a few days to swarm. That is pretty nice to have a laying queen that quick.
Did you give the swarm some drawn comb?

Yes Jim. Fortunately or Unfortunately I've had two hives to go queen less recently. The first one was a swarm and I gave it about 4 deep frames, the other was the card board box external cut out. It also received about 4. The last one I made a modified screen bottom board and I just put the super with the cut out on top. I figure about Thursday or Friday I'll remove it. This hive has been so long with out a queen I could have probably just put her in there and they would of been tickled pink.
