Greeting to all ya all.  Im a seasoned beekeeper with my start about 1964 I worked with a commercial beekeeper for 2 summers, kept bees while going to college, and then kept bees as a sideline till retired a few years ago.  Now I try to keep myself busy with bees which I find is pretty easy.
It was pretty easy to keep bees alive when I first got started but  now Im find it very hard.  So I will be searching  your post to find ideas that will be helpful in my operation.
Thanks for letting my join

   Hi Jay

Well I am sure that when you ask if I use more than tar paper on my house,  you mean on my beehives.  Well here in western oregon we place black plastic over our hives.  I use strapes to keep it in place but alot use laths and nail it in place.  Back when I was working for the commercial beekeeper we didnt use anything for wrapping and all went well and he had great hives in the spring.  Things have changed.

Jay, I've seen lots of houses with only tar paper for insulation and I'm in cold Michigan!  You just need a bigger heater. :-D
