I had 4 or 5 sheets of 5/8 plywood that was gave to me several years ago. I now have 3, 4 ft. top bar hives cut out and one 2 footer. will pick up some glue, screws and nails along with my new band saw tomorrow. I plan on getting all 4 stocked with bees in the month of may. by the way, at 73 &1/2 years old, I can still stay on the mark with an electric hand saw. lol! d2

Did not get the band saw. Got a model 3310 table saw made by Skil. my old table saw had seen its better days. d2

A buddy of mine roughed out 22 (tulip)poplar 8'- 1"x12"s for me... I'm going to work them up in 4 footers. They've been on splits for a while now.  If my traps get lucky I'm gonna have to start hopping.

I have one big popular I wish I could get cut and worked up. It's about 4 feet across the stump. I look for it to go hollow and die before too much longer. I was thinking  you will have to paint it or treat it with something to keep from rotting. d2

It weathers well, makes a good siding if it's milled and handled right.  But lay it on the ground with the bark still on and boom  - punk.

I built a sawmill and now have some oak and cedar drying and twelve traps out but still no bees.
