If it's prepared correctly, it can be quite good. Their diet is similar to wild boar.
What they really love is the brood... packed w/ fat and protein. When fall is coming on they are scrounging hard for winter stores - I've read they consume >10,000 cal a day. 
I have to put up electric fence on my two yards, I found bear sign at my mom's place last week.  :shocked:

As Jack O'Connor used to say, "I've noticed with a well placed shot deer are very easy to kill.  With a poorly placed shot deer are very hard to kill."  I'm sure the same is true for a bear...

MB that is pretty sound... I have experienced that phenomenon myself with deer. I find that if a deer is close I have more difficulty placing the shot. Seems I have an issue with buck fever when they are close.
