Greetings, I am new to this forum and will be a new beekeeper next April 2017 when my first package of honey bees comes to my home. My husband and I are both retired. We will each start a hive. Right now we are reading up, making lists of things we will need and such. We did drive to a "local" bee supplier to meet the owner and make sure we knew when to order our bees.

We are entering this as a hobby, rather than a business. I want to provide a safe haven for my bees so they will thrive and let me spend time with them. Our next step will be to check out area bee clubs.

Welcome to the forum!   Lots of great people here and many of us are hobbyists like you.   I hope you have a great experience with your bees.

Welcome to Beemaster. Sounds like you are on the right track. Start going to the meetings as soon as possible and go to more than one if possible. I attend 2 different clubs and they are very different.
