Hi, All!

Our weather is still cold in the night time.  Been having nightly frosts for
the last 2 weeks.  However, it is sunny and warm during the day time.  Right now the
almond trees are in full bloom in my bee yard just 12 feet away from the booming hives.  Lots of fragrant almond blooms and yellow brown pollen forage by my bees.  I took the opportunity today to grab a bee by its wings while she was foraging to taste the fresh almond pollen.  Always wonder what the almond pollen taste like when talking about folks at the almond run here every year. A bit coarser grain than the wild mustard pollen and a bit sweet with fresh nectar mixed in.  Overall very satisfying!  Almonds, peaches and plums are in full bloom now.  Follow by apricot blossoms next week.  I saw deep orange, orange, yellow, pale yellow and yellow brown (almonds) pollen collected by the bees every morning.  This is our earliest year for the fruit trees to bloom here.  Spring is just around the corner.  What is blooming in your bee yard now?

Red maple, crocus, henbit, dead nettle, scotch broom, and a decorative tree that I don't know the name of.

I've had silver maple, elm, winter aconite and crocus in bloom and the bees bring them all in.  That is, until yesterday when winter returned.  Now I have 10 inches of snow on the ground and normal Feb. temps for at least another week.
I hope they were able to get clustered back up near some honey!
Winter is coming.

I can't say I hate the government, but I am proudly distrustful of them.

I looked at our ten day forecast. Coldest day is 64/41 but that is the tenth day out.

The Red Buds are blooming in NC as well.
