Varroa: Treat or not Treat

Yes this site reports this as well. Random yes, consistent and increasing yes, in time. Michael Bush has bees that do not have varroa and are treatment free and it would be good to know how and when and perhaps offer a why.

His site is pretty informative.

Directions to the farm.
From I-10, east or west, use exit 333, the Glen St Mary exit, N County Road 125. Head north towards Glen St Mary. Go 14.5 miles north, the last 5 miles you will be in the Osceola National Forest. When you see that the trees are thinning in the distance start slowing down. There will be a dirt road, OC Horne Rd, on the right with just 25 feet of asphalt at the entrance, DO NOT TURN THERE. My drive way is about 50 feet past OC Horne Rd. There will be a BeeFest sign at the entrance and there is a sign with a cow that says Annabelle?s Wish. Follow the signs to the first gate on the right and then around the pond to the house.

You have a cow that talks and say ANNABELLE?s WISH!!!  AMAZING Jim,  BTW, what does the sign have written on it?  Just poking fun at our very difficult English language.

ANNABELLE?s WISH!!!  The idea of the cow is from the kids movie ANNABELLE?s WISH!!!  My first granddaughters name is ANNABELLE.
There is also a sign that says Altmiller and next to it is the name of whoever is renting our old farm house.

Sounds like a beautiful place, Jim.  I envy your lake that you have mentioned.  Must be nice to have a farm in N Florida,,,,, I have a friend that just moved into your N. Fl.  The land is expensive there.  My buddy basically paid 100K an acre for 3 acres.

Sounds like he is on a large lake, ocean or on a river. Land here is less than 10% of that.
