So sorry, rgennaro.

I had one hive earlier in the year (before getting two more nucs).

It was a great hive of beautiful golden Italians, just bursting at the seams after being installed the previous spring.

It swarmed.

Well, my mom had a terrible fall and after a painful struggle passed away.

So, I was not attentive to my hive and it got into a bad way, requiring a long and tedious rescue operation.  Looks like it worked but on Friday I found out what happened to the other bees.

The exterminators were just down the street from my house -- they were killing my bees from the earlier swarm. :-(
41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?

42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
