What?s your fancy?

Tonight it sure is starting to get darker early. 3.5 mile ride. Late start. 250 push ups. I do 35 push ups at each bench. Today I made it one lap around.

Congratulations, I'd have a funeral pending if I tried that.

A few weeks ago we all went to the lake for the day. We took our canoe and rented a kayak from the marina.

My outdoor recreation of choice is swimming.  We have a semi-secret spot on Bear Creek Lake where there is a little stretch of beach and no people unless it's a holiday.  We typically go on Thursday afternoons in the summer.  Swimming season is probably about over though.  My younger sisters like to swim even when it's borderline too cold, so we may go out there once or twice more, but we'll likely switch over to hiking on Thursdays pretty soon.  Just have to avoid the fall tourists, although I bet our fall color is not going to be very good this year, since it's been so dry, and a lot of the trees are turning and dropping leaves prematurely.
I come from under the hill, and under the hills and over the hills my paths led.  And through the air, I am she that walks unseen.

You guys recreational swimming or racing and doing laps? We used to be members of a pool when we were kids and would swim like a fish all summer long. We had some tight bodies as hard as we played. We would ride bikes a couple miles to get to the pool, then swim all day long, all summer long. Sharks and Minnows was an all time favorite.

Just recreational swimming, but like you say, we're doing a lot of it.  The kids mostly stay in the shallow water since they are playing, and one of the younger girls isn't a very strong swimmer, but I have always loved swimming in as deep of water as I can find.  When there are no boats on the lake, I'll swim out pretty far and stay there for quite a while, so even when I'm not swimming I'm treading water.  My adult sister doesn't swim much, since she has this condition where when she gets cold, especially if it's a shock of cold, all the blood leaves her fingers and then her hands, and leaves them feeling numb and freezing for like hours afterward.  I think it's called Reynaud's syndrome.  So she typically just sits on the shore and reads while we swim.
