For those who do biz with Draper Bee in Millerton, PA. They are taking orders for Queens and Packages 2007. Just sent my order in today, won't have to scramble like I did last year.  :-D

Do they supply their own bees, or do they resell?   What kind of bees do they have?  And if they resell, who is their supplier(s)?

Thanks.

When I first started learning and thinking about beekeeping, I stopped in ( at least 4 or 5 years ago, they're off RT 31 ) . I still do not know much about them as far as supplies and bee stocks. I need to stop in and make new friends. :-D

Jarhead- Do you like'm more then the Minnesota Hygenics from Harvey's?

One more question for anyone. When mail ordering from a supplier, do you have problems w/ the post office in NJ?

Maybe we could setup a master post of places who have Packages for 2007?   It could include location, whether they ship or not, races of bees, prices, etc.   This topic is likely to come up many times in the next couple of months, I would imagine.   Just an idea, and it would certainly be helpful to me too.  :D

I can't give you a good/bad accessment on the postal service. I pay good money for my bees, so therefore I only trust myself to drive out to wherever and bring them home, no matter the distance and expense. In this case, Draper Bee is an 8 hour round trip from C.C. Phila, it is a beautiful drive too.  :-D

The bee's I purchased from Harvey's have a temper. I use a lot of smoke to inspect. The bee's I purchased from S&F are mellow. I purchased Black Feral Queens from Michael Bush to replace queens in 3lb packages I purchased on Ebay. I plan on buying more feral queens when they are ready, nice bee, easy to work with. I have had no problems with the Post Office as soon as the bee's arrive they call.
