Keith13

Hi,

My name is Keith, screen name keith13; this is my first year to work with bees. I planned to only have 2 hives but that plan has certainly gone out the window. I received a cut out as well as a swarm from JP before my two nucs ever arrived. Pretty much doubled what I planned before I ever got started. Then from there Jp called me and asked if I wanted to go get a swarm that settled in a birdhouse near my house never one to turn something free down I jumped on that as well. So I will do a cut out on those as soon as my new hive bodies arrive. Sooooo right now I am up to 4 hives so far. 2 are Russians and 2 are feral. I live in Baton Rouge, LA. I have my hives in Rosedale, LA. Anyway I am really glad I found the forums and I hope to be here awhile, I look forward to meeting and talking with you all.

Hi Keith

How lucky for you to have hooked up with JP. We love him here on this forum and he is great at getting bees. You are certainly jumping in fast. You will not regret it and you will get all the help you need right here.

Stay in touch and good luck with the nucs also.

Sincerely
Annette

I would try to hold it to no more than 6 or eight till you get the hang of things.
Not really too much to do when things go well but when they don't,  --well it can get, what ever.
