Side 1:

The y is down from this side

The opposite side:

The y is  up on this side.
Now ,what is the method, making sure looking in from one side all the frames have the Y's up and the other side are down?

Sure glad this subject was brought up. I didnt think it mattered, however after some research I have decided that it is best to install the frames this way. This is the reason I lurk this site. Good Info. :)

And I'm still unsure if it does...

In one instance, my bees wouldn't draw straight comb until I gave it to them all facing one way. I had to kjeep scraping it until I faced the foundation all the same way. It didn't matter in two other hives when I started from blank foundation.

That has been my experience as well, and the best evidence I can see that it might matter.  I've seen comb they wouldn't draw right until I flipped it.

Ok...Maybe I'm crazy.....but those two pics look just the same.  Thje pics are different in the post, but both link to the same pics when enlarged.

See the little orange speck in the top center ???

Also the comb damage is the same.  Even the Pic # is the same.  WHat am I missing ???

I can see that the "y" Would be in oposite orientation on the other side, Just was a bit confused by the pics.

Ken,

Do a search on "housel"  and you'll find a lot of discussion on this subject.
