My girls just don't want to move into my supers. I'm not sure why.  I thought I'd try a weird idea.  I have two supers on top of the brood boxes, both supers are completely empty. All they have is foundation and no comb.

I was going to pull some of the frames from the supers. I thought I'd then pull two or three larger partial frames with comb from one of the brood boxes and place these larger partial frames in the two smaller supers. The supers would be stacked. Hopefully the larger brood box frames will fit into the two stacked supers. I'd specially place these over the empty slots in the brood box. With the partial frames in the supers, I'm hoping the girls starting working the other small frames in the supers.

I hope this makes sense. I'd like the girls be build comb on the frames in the supers and hope to trick them into doing so.

Will this work ?

He who would gather honey must bear the sting of the bees.

you are liable to have them building burr comb which you really dont want. there is a post with the dimension s of the various supers so just do a search. I would think that if they haven't gone up yet there is still room in the brood chamber, there is no need at this point to have on 2 empty supers.

The girls are not inclined to draw out comb unless there is a honey flow going on.  When they need the room they will draw it out.
