K-R-Farms

First year beek, since April.
Three hives.
Weekly inspections.
No stings.

So my father-in-law comes over.
He wants to check out the hives.
I had just gotten unsuited, and my smoker was out.
I didn't want to go, but my wife was giving me that look.

We walked over to the first hive.
I pulled off, the lid.

ZAP...
ZAP ZAP!

Kids, you don't need to suit up, but, I'd suggest NEVER forgetting the smoker.

Lesson learned.
(thanks honey!)

K-R-Farms, hee, hee, you ain't seen nothin' yet  ;) :) :) :), no doubt you will have more stings, I'm smiling here.  Just think of the relief from any arthritis you will get  :) :) :).  Isn't it nice to be able to show off infront of people, I like to do that too, hee, hee, especially an in-law.  Beautiful and most wonderful day, Cindi

I think I lit my smoker maybe 3 times in the past three years. I just never use it. I rarely use a suit either. I did today though because you know how the girls get around their honey in late summer/early fall.

My wife actually loaned out my smoker this summer for 2 months to our neighbor who is a first year beekeeper with one hive. I didn't know it was gone until she brought it back last week. It's not shiney anymore. Now it looks all . . . used :'(
After 18 months of reading and preparation, my girls finally arrived on April 11th (2006)!
