Today my statcounter showed almost 4000 hits on my blog, compared to the usual 350/day.  I found out that Blogger has named my blog a Blog Of Note this month - wow!  There are 10 blogs given this compliment and mine is first on the list!

What do you know???? ;) :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Thanks, Dallas, lots of these visitors today are nonbeekeepers - maybe it will help open up the world of beekeeping a little - one girl wrote that she liked my blog but was really scared of bees.....so maybe it will make a difference - I'd sure like that!

you're site is awesome and you deserve the recognition. I have also found that women, in particular, love it. i often send new female beeks to your site, they just eat it up.

That is so cool! Do you really get 350 hits a day? I get a few- but they are probably all me checking on my hits  :-\ I really love the map on your webpage, too.

Oh Linda, what a wonderful thing.  You have worked so hard on this blog, and it is such a great site to visit, I go there frequently too.  All your time and effort, well, say no more, it has paid off, you have created a site that is worthy of visiting, that shines through, you go, girl!!!  Keep up that hard work, it is indeed so interesting to go to your place.  Have that most great and wonderful day, love life.  Cindi

QuoteDo you really get 350 hits a day?

Before this Blog of Note happened I got an average of 350 hits a day - sometimes more, sometimes less.  Since that happened there have been well over 1500 hits a day, but that will probably slow down when October is over.

At first I didn't get so many - but I get a lot from posts I make here and on Beesource and because people want to SEE how to harvest honey without an extractor as well as to learn how to build solar wax melter.  Those two subjects bring the greatest interest.

The free stat counter I use (www.statcounter.com) allows me to designate my own checking in such a way that it doesn't count as a hit.  It's called adding a "blocking cookie."  I can set that up on all the computers I use - at my office, at home, on my laptop.

Then when you look at your own blog, it doesn't register as a hit.  Also you can check hits via Google if Google hosts your blog.  On that hit counter, I don't know how to designate my own visits to the blog in such a way as not to be counted, but I'm sure you can do it there too.
