Real pollen?

I'm planning for spring and just wondering.... Does anybody out there feed real pollen, or cut it with soy subsitute? If so where do you harvest it? And do suppliers provide a fresh and trustworthy product?
I'm just not sure if its worth the risk of cross-contamination if they use entrance pollen traps.

If I can, I feed real pollen. When I don't have enough I cut it with dry substitute.  I probably should do more research on which would be the best, but I just buy it from Brushy Mt.  If I can't get it quickly enough, I mix the real pollen with whole soy flour about 50/50.

We made pollen patties out of real pollen we bought from Brushy Mountain.  They ate them all right up!

Other than patties, how else does one feed polen?  Also, how do I know when such feeding is required or advised?

Hi all
I have some pollen that I collected from a lost hive. I have it frozen. Would you tell me how to feed it to a hive that I am trying to build up for the winter?

I put a solid bottom board with a board behind it for good drainage, and then put a screened bottom board on top of that and the pollen on top of that with an empty box and a lid.
