Cindi, that last picture looks like it might be a shred of dinosaur egg shell.
If you must move, and can find out if and what's required to transport bees across the line, I'll take 2 or more if you really need it.  I'll even re-imburse the inspection fees.
Brian, OK, I think you have officially gone off your rocker!!!  And your imagination has gone to the wild side, hee, hee.  No way on earth could this be a dinosaur egg.  I looked at it more closely and if anything it is some kind of quart with an amethyst vein running through it (amethyst is purple right?).

That sounds just like the petrified dinosaur egg pieces a friend of mine brought back from Montana when we were young.   Crystals inside a rock so to speak.  The yoke and albumen of the egg turns into crystals of various colors (Purple, blue, and yellowish are common).  Its similar to turning coal into diamonds except with dino eggs.
Think about it, do a little research, and get back to me, I think you'll find my rocker is still working when it comes to certain types of rocks.

Quartz and amethyst can be in geodes, too.  Cindi, you and I are rock hounds, maybe you found a broken open, weathered geode, how cool is that?  You guys have more volcanic type rocks out there, it's entirely possible!

Brian, maybe your rocker is still a'rockin', hee, hee.  You may be onto something, maybe it is a dinosaur egg, it also could be a geode, like Ann was saying, both sound very plausible.  The rock will sit on my windowsill for the time being, until I have the time to do some research on what it may be, but for now, just gonna have to put it on the back burner.  Have a wonderful, most awesome life and day, health.  Cindi

KONASDAD

Well, I guess I will tell you a rock story....

I was in the Flathead Valley area of Montana with my wifes brother, wife and kids. My one nephew was maybe 11 or 12. The flathead river has the most beautiful river stones. All these pastel clolors..red..green..blue..grey and the like Even a yellowish color. My newphew starts to save these rocks. His dad, says we cant take too many on the plane, you can only take as many as will fit in your pants pockets. So, he procedes to fill his pockets to bursting point. Now he weighs maybe 65lbs wet. All skin and bones too. All day he is walking w/ both hands holding his pants and legs spread far apart. Quite a sight. Hilarious !!
Now flash forward to the school year that followed our trip. I am at his home for the holidays and I ask him how it going? He proceeds to cry and tell me the following. He met this girl, She asked him out and gave him a peck on the cheeck. He was in love at 12! So, he gave her the "blue rock." A week later she broke up w/ him, told him she only asked him-out for a dollar bet and got an extra five for kissing him and no, she wasnt giving the rock back!!! Thats why he was crying!!!

Oh Konasdad.  That poor little dude, and what a cranky young gal.  She should have given him back his rock, I don't blame him for bawling his eyes out!!!  Rocks, well, they  be pretty special.  You conjured up a pretty funny little story for my mind's eye, and it gave me a few good smiles, thanks for those, they were wonderful.  Have a most awesome and great day, life, health.  Cindi
