New York City Beekeepers need your help

Seems like beekeeping is illegal in NYC. I've added a letter I received from a beekeeper in NYC looking for help, to my website.

I signed it. Boy I read about a beekeeper in New York that gets 200 lbs of honey from each of his hives. There must be a lot of forage for the bees out there.

We (our local organization) have a hearing at a local city council tonight as some people want to outlaw beekeeping in one town here in Utah. Every year in one town or another this happens but we have prevailed....so far.

Georgia has a good attitude on this:

2-14-41.1. Prohibition against restriction of honeybee production or maintenance.
No county, municipal corporation, consolidated government, or other political subdivision of this state shall adopt or continue in effect any ordinance, rule, regulation, or resolution prohibiting, impeding, or restricting the establishment or maintenance of honeybees in hives. This Code section shall not be construed to restrict the zoning authority of county or municipal governments.
