I was looking out the kitchen window the other day, while talking to the wife, when the 2 geese who reside in the retention pond for the housing deveopment next door swooped in for a landing bringing last years hatchlings with them.  Minutes later a small flock of mallards settled into the creek that runs behind the house.
Well, I says to meself, spring's here regardless of what the groundhog has to say.

Wow, you guys are killing me. It was 20 degrees below zero, here the last couple of nights. I am doing everything possible to think spring. I even ordered strawberry plants fron Gurney's today. That must mean spring is on the way.

Well, all the snow melted here as of yesterday. I was so glad to see the last of it go and I saw some of my sedums coming up throught the soil and now today they tell us to expect at least 10 inches of snow and school is already canceled for tomorrow along with my bee club meeting.
Spring seems a long way off right now.
