I work out of my home office.  Everytime I take a break I go out to my bee yard and just stand there and watch them come and go.  I caught a swarm last week and got them into 1 deep.  My old hive is 2 deeps.

While out there the last couple of day I noticed that the new hive is bringing in lots and lots of pollen.  The old hive is not bringing in as much.

Do they only gather what they need?  Maybe the old hive is full of pollen and is only bringing in nectar?

Any thoughts?

when was the last time you checked the hive?  you probably won't get an answer until you dig around in there.  might be a slow hive to get started, or they may be in trouble.
