double screen division

I'm looking for any feedback from folks who've got experience with dividing a hive using a split screen board and stacking the new hive vertically over the old hive. I'm wondering about: drift;  how often to check the new hive; what temperatures the new split needs to stay viable as a very small cluster; any other concerns you've experienced. Here in southern Ohio the temperatures have begun to warm up but we're still getting some nights in the 30s, and ther's still a possibility of a late frost. But then again, it seems there's a flow of nectar already, maybe earlier than normal.   Any advice appreciated!

Instead of removing the old queen and screen board at the end, just remove to "introduction nuc".
