These babies were about 35 foot or more up in a tree very close to a removal I did yesterday. I noticed them as I was evaluating the removal from the home. I asked the fellow who owned the home if he knew anyone with a bucket truck. Fortunately enough he did and the guy came over and put me right under this baby. Didn't get any close up photos  :-\. The wind was blowing pretty hard and wasn't real comfortable up there. This baby was about 6 pounds. There were about as many in the colony I took from the house. I'm sure they came from that colony. There were many queen cells that had the bottoms and side chewed open.

So someone just happened to have a boom lift laying around, how cool is that! Very nice swarm!

Yeah..how fortunate was that. Course I did "manipulate" the situation a little. I feel a little guilty. I told them that how the swarm "could' infest the house in another area if we didn't get it down. You never know. Anyway I think that lit a fire under his butt to get it for me. I was looking at them every time I went out to my truck to get a tool. I wanted that swarm bad! The wind was blowing so hard that it would blow chunks of the swarm down to the ground. As they would fall they would break up and fly right back to the swarm. It was really cool to see.

I don't blame you for wanting that swarm. That's the kind that makes your mouth water and gives you goosebumps!

Guy called yesterday, had a swarm in a bush at his house about two weeks ago, now he has bees in his house.

So, yep, its time to call a beekeeper when you have a swarm, you never know where they may wind up.
