Sunny, overcast, morning, evening, before rain, just after rain?

I am just curious what you all think is the best type of conditions for a hive inspection might be?

Where I live, I do my inspections on days the wind will not blow the bees off the frames.

Its also easier to inspect if a lot of the foragers are out gathering!

ITCHI, as you become more experienced and your apiary builds in number you will find that working them whenever you can get into them, is when you work them.

With that said, try if you can, not to work them in excessive winds nor rainy conditions, at least not without an umbrella handy.

Umbrella, did someone say Umbrella??? Oh you woke me up JP.

But seriously (if that is possible) I have read that it is best to work them during the day when most of the foragers are out and about on a nice warm sunny day.

But as others have said, if you simply must go into them or have to go into them, make sure no rain, no wind, and not to cold.
