I haven't found anything on this but is there any specific laws about keeping bee's?   What about inspection requirements?  Anything else that I might need to know?

all depends on the state and city you live in. :)

Exactly.
I recommend getting in touch (and joining!) a local bee club. They'll be able to fill you in on all the local laws, regulations, etc.

No, No, and yes.  ;)

There are local regulations as far as limits to bees go, but as far as I can tell there are no beekeeping specific regulations for registering hives and inspections.

There are some regulations for selling honey, but those are more food safety related (FDA).

But there are lots of things that you *will need* know!! :-D

I hunted for regulations where I am, the only thing I found was on labeling for commerce.
So I just stuck the girls out back and let them go to work.

Well I have no intention right now at least of selling any honey,  would like to get some for my kids and myself but that is all.  So I should be alright.  Now just need to learn to keep a hive and keep it healthy.
