new beekeeper here just wondering what type of honeybee I have.  I guess it would be good to know if someone would ask "what type of honeybees do you have" and I would be 100% sure I was telling the right thing.

They look just like mine, except fewer darker bees.  Most Italian looking, a couple with blacker stripes that are Carniolan looking.  Mine were purchased as Carniolans, but I think the queen probably mated with some of both, because I see both types in my hives.  Your queen looks alot lighter than mine and the bees look more predominantly Italian, so I would say Italian.  I've only raised Italians and Carnies, so maybe someone else will have a different opinion.

Look just like mine also, mutts or heinz 57 if you prefer. Sorry to hear that your queen was so loose with the boys :'( :-D

Did you buy a package of bees with the marked queen and are thinking you got a certain strain?

All that really matters is if they are gentle, good producers, and queen is a proficent layer (not in any order here).

I'd say his camera's date wasn't set, 1/1/2006 is typical "factory" default.

Without a doubt, no guessing at all, they are full blooded, 100% Apis mellifera
