Has any one that has used it, had any sucess using Dadant's Swarm Catch Lure ?

How does it compare with HBH as a lure ?

At $3.50 a pop just wondering.

Placing a order and looking for a few things to fill it out.

Thanks

Before going to Dadant check E-bay. I recently saw swarm lure there...10 vials for $10.

They work fine. Now adays I just use a piece of old comb and some lemongrass oil, can't beat the combination.

I have.

Yes.  But no better than lemongrass essential oil which is much cheaper.

>How does it compare with HBH as a lure ?

I never used HBH, but I have used lemongrass essential oil a lot and it works fine and is cheaper for the strength you get.

So was I when I used both the lures and Lemongrass oil.

I put all the queens that I dispatch in a little 90% rubbing alcohol and then mix that with lemongrass oil. I don't know if it works any better that just lemongrass essential oil, but I read somewhere it would. I know, don't believe everything that you read. Anyway I tried that last year with good results.
Its kinda like fishing for bees.

Im sure it has alot to do with my area but I set out 12+ traps this year with 3 old combs and a shot of lemongrass oil and everyone caught a swarm.  100% catch rate.

Where do ya'll get your lemongrass oil from? I've only bought it once from a heath food store and it wasn't exactly cheap.

ebay.  there are a couple of good ebay herbal stores that carry good essential oils.  if you put a watch on lemongrass oil, you'll find that they often run specials that make the price pretty reasonable.

I pay 5.00 an oz at the health food store but it lasts me a couple of years.   Thats using it in traps and a couple of gallons of HBH

that's not a bad price and i have gotten even better deals just by having a watch on it and buying when they have special.  in the winter i usually have a pot going with some  oil of something steaming away.  a few drops will do it!
