Sugar in Divisionboard feeder

Hi Folks,
I plan on taking a look into the hives today and tomorow. It is supposed to get into the 60's here, Woohoo!!

The last time I looked in was three weeks ago when I topped off the divisionboard feeders with syrup. The syrup I made was so thick it was practically honey!

I figure that from here on out that I don't want to use syrup but to go to using candy board or straight sugar.

I was wondering If there was any reason why I should'nt simply fill the division board feeders with sugar? Seems like the simplest solution.

I had also thought of using a feeder as a form to make blocks of sugar and then inserting them into the hives replacing the space of the feeders that way the girls would have access all the way down to the bottom of the first box.....?

Maybe or maybe not important that I use top entrances.
