It is snowing hard in NJ today.  We have a North Eastern again and it is dumping snow and ice! I pray my bees will make it till the weather warm's up. The snow will continue till Sunday I think.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

I hear you, brother.  I am in Bergen County NJ and I hope my girls will survive the winter this year.  I saw a few around the end of Jan there was a mild day but nothing since then.  Lets hope for the best and if not hope for an early spring swarm....Good luck.

I am in NE Ohio and am SO sick of winter :(! We don't have quite as much snow as you do, but we have been getting dumped on pretty heavy all February. It has been too cold to open the hives to check the honey stores. I too, pray that the girls will make it until it warms up. I wish you all the best of luck!

I think that the heaven will not help in beekeeping skills.

OK GOD of Beekeeping!

I'm not overly religious, but if God and the heavens can't help, we're in BIG TROUBLE!! :'(

Maybe Obama will bail out the beekeepers!

The northeast has really gotten hit this year with the snow and cold temps.  We live in Rockland county, NY.  On a warm day before the storm we did get out there and feed the bees some honey on wax paper.  Looks like the girls were all clustered up on top, I hope they have enough to last until something blooms.
Temps will start to warm up - we just need a break.  Out of 6 hives, we still have 4 alive.
We love the girls...

I had three going into the winter and with the cold and the snow i haven't been able to check on mine, this weekend it is going up close to the 40 so I will get a chance to take a look and feed if I need too. We set the yearly snow fall record this year.
