My first bee sting of the season...   she got me on the thumb and my hand looks like a blown up examination glove...   ouch.    I guess I lost some of my resistance thru the winter.  BTW got the sting putting a package of bees in my garage for the night...  a Klingon that rode 60 miles back to my house on the outside of the package nailed me as I sat the box in the garage for the night.  LOL I almost couldn't get my puffed up paw into the gloves today when I put them into their new home...   unappreciative little ...   bee  :)

She was real mad at you for some reason.  Next time you let her ride inside with the rest of the girls.

Ice packs and Benadryl will help.  I'm nursing a sting I got from hiving my first swarm today.   :-x

:-D It's a pleasure scratching that itch on the 2nd day isn't it??
I've chosen understanding over knowledge-since knowledge is all about knowing where to find facts and understanding is knowing how to manipulate knowledge...I've also chosen knowledge over beliefs!! We all need to..

I got stung in the face a few weeks ago. I usually swell up bad. this time I tried something new I cut an onion in half and pressed it on my sting after 20 minutes of having the stinky onion pressed on my face you could not even tell that I was stung. I could not believe it. I will use an onion every time I get stung now. I also heard that a crushed garlic clove works to.

You won't have to worry about anyone seeing the swollen sting.  Onions and garlic will drive people and most animals away from you!   :-D

Maybe I'll just eat more Italian food proactively...   wont hurt, might help

I've been checking out a new sting remedy that seems to work really well...meat tenderizer. Mix into a paste and apply. I guess the enzymes in the papaya extract break down the proteins in the venom. We've wrapped tough cuts of meat in bruised papaya leaves to tenderize and I'm thinking of making some sort of poultice out of the leaves and trying on stings...sure seems to work!

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Glenfiddich is the best sting remedy I've found.  Taken orally in small 1 oz doses over several hours.

Having an onion or clove of garlic on my skin for 20 minutes may stop the sting and swelling but it sure will cut down on the romance at home.  Tough choice I know.  I can hear my kids right now..."eewwwwww what's that smell"????
