Put up 2 packages yesterday. The feeder when being used will not allow me to use small opening for a entrance so bees look to be using the back were the mite mate goes into the slot. Is this OK or what should I do. It also looks like they are using the hole on the top cover. So It just looks like they have to large of a area to guard. Thanks

When I feed, I put the inner cover directly over the hive body.  Then I install an empty medium super on top of that.  I fill a quart size mason jar with syrup.  Punch 3-5 holes in the lid; in a straight row.  Pierce the lid from the outside of the lid in.  Screw on the top and set it over the hole on the inner cover.  Then you close up the super with the telescoping cover and use your entrance reducer.  I'm personally am not much on boardman feeders because I think they can encourage robbing.

you will want to plug up most of the entrance around the feeder with something.  rolled up green grass will work temporarily, or just a piece of wood.  you can do the same for any other large opening.  small holes will be ok.
