I have my swarm traps ready, where do I put them?

I built five swarm traps.  Each is the same size as a deep.  I put one old drawn frame in each one.  I then put in nine foundation less frames.  I bought swarm lure from Dadent and I was thinking about wiping lemon grass oil near the entrance?  Good Idea?   I am going to mount these boxes at about nine feet.  Putting them on a 2x4 that is ten feet long with a support at nine feet to hold the box.  I will then strap the box to the support and strap the 2x4 to a tree or something.   Do I need to try and set these near an apiary?  or where would be a good spot?  I had a swarm land in my orchard last year and have never seen honey bee's around here before?   I am open to any suggestions.  I know a lot of you have caught swarms.  Any special locations?

I like any area where there is a stand of old trees, and heck with props just ty a rope on it and chunk it over a limb , pull it up and ty it off

It won't matter if it is swinging in the breeze?

I saw two traps swinging like that Sat., one at 35 feet, one at 60 feet. Both had swarms moved in Fri. or Sat. morning. I guess they might like to rock their babies, too.

That would be a lot easier hoisting them up and lowering them than the way I had figured.  Bet rope wouldn't cost any more than the 2x4's either.   Can't figure someone putting a trap at sixty feet though...That is really up there.  Ya figure the average would be around ten? maybe 15?

This one was put where 3 swarms landed last year, that he had to watch leave, so he put the trap up there this year. He has now caught this one this year, and is hoping for more.

i have not seen many swarms travling at 10 ft.

Bud 1 how high would you suggest?   I have never actually seen a swarm in the air?
