 OK, so they are not as mean and hateful as they were just last week.  They have been in their new home for 26 days now and are settling down very nicely.  I didn't get stung at all this time and they didn't try to attack the smoker like in the past. :-D  In fact they seem to be very calm compared to when I check them last week.  I noticed mid week that I was able to pick strawberries and check on my small garden without getting stung or chased away, so all is well and I know longer want to dowse them in gas and throw a match at it.

They must be Sicilians, not regular Italians.

Something must have been pestering them like a skunk.  Its barley been a brood cycle so I would not guess for any change in behavior that fast.  Hope in a few weeks they are nice as most of my girls.  Ive been going without my jacket with only veil and gloves.  Tried a couple times with not gloves but it freaked me out when they were crawling on my fingers licking me or whatever they were doing so out of fear I put gloves on.  Soon I hope to be glove-less.  IT is so much easier to pull frames when you can feel them with bare fingers.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, that something is messing with them.  I live in the city so its hard to say whats going on.  I have seen some coon's, skunks and posums so its hard to say.  I am just glad they have started to settle down and are very workable.  Oh well is all a learning experience that I will laugh at some day.  On a side note maybe they saw me buying marshmallows and hot-dogs and said this man means business.

So did you pay off the "Boss" to get permission to work the Italians?

AllenF

I would hate to hear that you got whacked.

AllenF--You're hilarious!

Vermmy--Glad they're calming down. In town, I guess that would really matter! My girls are a couple acres away, so they can be as pissy as they want while I work in my garden :D
