Too bad you had to dismantle it, they make great souvenirs. Of course the decaying brood would stink. That's probably why most people grab them in the winter.


I don't run across too many of those, they are cool.

The first thing the lady did that had me take it down was show me her epi pen. I asked if she would like to see the inside and she said if they are all dead. Sprayed at 5am and took it down at 3pm.

Very cool Irwin. I have not seen one of those since I was a kid back in Indiana. I remember my dad and uncle were tryign to get it down to take home but I dont think the wasp wanted them to. It was quite funny. Thanks for sharing the photo.

...and here I am nervous about tackling the little 4 inch wide nest on my front deck.

I don't know about the real man thing it was the money that got me going 1/2 hour work = 30 dollar's profit.

they are pretty.  i try to get them with the pressure washer before they get anywhere near that size.  they like to build up on the ceiling of my barn.
