I am looking for anyone who has information or interest in a device called the Apidictor.  It was invented back in the 60's by E.F. Woods, and was an electronic device for measuring changes in the frequency of hive noise to (hopefully) predict queen cell formation.

One of my boys has an interest in trying to create a modern, computerized version of this device, and would like as much information as he can get about the old device.  If anyone has used it before and would be willing to give us some input, please let us know.  I've found several links with basic information, but some input from people who have actually used the device would be very helpful.

Thanks

Sorry, I can't help you out on this but I'm very interested in what you/your son find out. Keep us posted on your findings!

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

I have read about it in the past, but they just are not used.   Wood sold only 300 of those boogers.

Maybe someone on the forum has one?
