Metal Mouse Guards

So I have a question.  Can mortician bees remove dead bees through the single holes in a metal mouse guard?  Or does a beek need to take the mouse guard off to clean behind it every week or so.

With 2 cats & 3 dogs in the yard I've not needed the guards yet.  Just wondering...
