I'm getting a package of Kelley's Russian Hybrids in April and they will be placed in my yard of 8 established hives. I plan on feeding the stew out of them to get them started. They will be dumped in two mediums of 90% drawn comb. I have entrance feeders, robber screens, and hive tops but was considering filling up some combs with syrup to feed them that way. Anyone with any thoughts? Will comb feeding induce robbing just as easily as any other type of feeding or no? My thoughts are it doesn't really matter one way or the other, but for some reason I just don't really care for robber screens. They seem to confuse the heck out of the foragers and with our freakish weather we've been having, any bee caught outside overnight is a goner. (weather/mockingbirds)

Use a hive top feeder or pail feeder or put the syrup in the combs but most of all id put an entrance reducer on the hive and wouldnt add any kind of stimulant that the other hives would smell  just 1to1 syrup the bees should be able to defend themselves with a entrance reducer Chris

Keep the feeder inside the hive and keep it shut as best as possible.   Reduce the entrance to just where a bee or 2 can get in or out at a time until they can fend for themselves.

I have several frame feeders...Place it in the #10 position in the top box?

I will. Right now this will be my only Russian hive that I have (and its advertised as a Russian Hybrid not a true Ruskie) I want to keep adding different genetics to my gene pool-weed out the hot tempered's and keep the good.  When Russell opens his A.M.M's again I want to queen some splits with some of those as well.
