To singe or not to singe?

I just finished making a 2" x 12" into 50 something frames. :-D

The question is; Should I singe the frames or not? :?

Why singe them? The only reason most people singe or scorch them is on the suspicion of disease. Just throw em in there, they will be fine.

How long did it take you to turn that piece into 50 x 4?
No singeing of course. Only for disease. And then frames get burned usually. Hive bodies, supers, BB, Inner covers and Outer covers get the singe.

Congrats Kodiak!  Making frames from scratch is hard work. 

I would love more details about how you did it and maybe some photos.  I built up a  bunch of foundationless frames this spring and it took me forever.  Then again, I'm not the best woodworker nor do I have real great equipment.  If I recall it took me a grand total of about 12 minutes per frame to make them from scratch.  I would starve making frames for a living.

It takes about 2 hours, rough guess, to get it all cut up and stapled together. The tools that I use are a table saw with a good dado blade. Going to make more today, I will time it. :-D

Found very good step by step plans on beesource for the Dadant style frames.
