Am I missing something here?

Spoke with a lady last night who needed bees removed from an inaccessible hive in her concrete wall.  They are entering and exiting through a pipe. Agreed to stop by and see if they were really bees and assess the situation this evening.

She calls back today and wants $25 for us to removed the bees from her wall.  I nearly laughed myself off the phone.  I'm glad she let me know before we managed to make the trip over there.  Is someone crazy enough to pay someone to hassle with this or am I way out of line here?  It is my understanding it is customary to pay someone to remove bees from your wall.  No?

Maybe they are those special Varroa resistant, treatment free, "feral" bees.....you will never know until you pay the $25 and take your chances.... :?

Otherwise, that's crazy!

I had one like that a few years back. I told them I would pay 100.00 for them. I would bring a hive over, let them place the colony in the hive, and pick it up and pay them in 30 days if the bees stayed and did well. I never did hear back from them.

That's a good one.   I will have to remember it.

My removal is what supports my beekeeping addiction. Otherwise the wife i dont have anymore - she left when she found out there is no 12 step program for b-keeping addicts- would've shot me.
Lol aside, i get a bundle for removals, not the other way around.

you should ask her how much she would charge you to cut her grass.....
