Look at the size of this swarm! I saw nothing that would indicate AHB, they should call a real beekeeper next time. :-x

Wasn't a swarm, they were on comb at the end of the washing.

I doubt they were AHB.  I would have though they would be more aggressive, especially with the guy up on a latter near by.  Who knows what students or people were doing around or below the tree.  They may have been hotter than most, bit I doubt AHB.  Just my .02 cents.

Is it law to kill swarms or feral colonies because of potential AHB genetics?

That was a monster.  If it had been a swarm it would be the biggest I have ever seen on film, in pic or in person.  I hope I get a swarm call like that this year.  Ill shake them into the back of my truck bed and cover with a screen board, a 4x8' sheet of plywood with a window screen, frame and all installed on it

Good reporting. I think it was fair, informative, and not nearly as bad as some I have seen. No big dramatic scene. Just a colony that was killed and removed from a place they had been causing problems. Just like a thousand others all across the country each week. I did like that they even mentioned that they would not know if they were actually AHBs without further testing.
